Woman (& man) need to be herself to feel comfortable in relationships. And allow man be himself. Never try to change. And never pretend better or more sexy. And never hide sexuality, if it is very strong)) I know a couple, where wife hates sex, husband is not very hot, no one pretends & everybody are happy. And another couple, where man pretended hot with his hot wife, and then didn`t know how to avoid sex and it hurted her.
Mental health does not depend on country. It depends on upbringing & family.
I am not selfish, but I love my self now. It was time, when I donated my family, my freedom, my halth & my money to ex-husband, & it almost destroyed me. As I said - be yourself, never sacrifice your soul, but always do for loved one everything you want him to do for you.

There is no problem to find balance between professional, social and affective in relationships for me. But in the moment of choise children & love will be on the first place.
I think the problem of modern relationships is lack of own responsibility to family, children, loved on. In any case commonwealth will protect. It makes familys weak
