Привет, я думаю, что это элементарно вежливо, говорить "привет" при встрече и "до свидания" или "пока" в конце разговора. Однако тут я впервые встретила такое, что "пока или до свидания" не говорят. Вначале была шокирована, теперь привыкла)) Общаюсь с парнем из США..я думала, что может так принято-не прощаться))

Ok. But if it were a telephone would you just hang up.   "Have to run, cu" that's how it's done in American English. Other cultures would vary. It's called here a pet peeve. A small thing that really pisses one off.

Все зависит от того места где она проживает.
У нас есть районы где могут отключить электричество, могут возникнуть проблемы с интернетом, а если вы общались по телефону - элементарно у нее закончились деньги на телефоне.
Не обижайтесь - отнеситесь с пониманием.
Наверняка она тоже жалеет о том. что не сказала Вам до свидания.

agree, saying goodbye is a right and polite thing to do.
and, if it's a bug in the system, that cuts the other person off, it's good when that other person reaches out first when they are back online
