A man and a woman were getting acquaintance and doing questions to each other.When they had mutual interest, at determined moment, she did a question to him:
- Are you single?
He answered, asking back too:
- Yes, I am. And you?
She answered:
- Me too. I do not have a partner.
The conversation continued, going to a different topic.
The pair were in love and began a relationship. Then, their wedding happened later and they got married.
Both were enjoying the life together. But after a period, the lady noticed something unexpected: someone was involved with her husband and he was betraying her probably.
Then, one day, the wife went to the couple and asked:
- Who is this person next to you?
The husband did not hesitate to answer and was sincere:
- She is my girlfriend since before when I met you.
The wife was surprised and commented:
- But you told me that you were single!
He said:
- Yes, and I really was. You just did not ask if I had girlfriend.
Then, the wife got mad and also told something still hidden:
- OK! Similarly, you asked that question to me, and I confirmed that I was single too. I just did not reveal why I became widow.

This joke describes a situation where its characters answered directly what was asked, but both omitted something related to the question that was important to the other part, which was until determinant to decide if a relationship between them would be began or not. That posture caused trouble later.
Sometimes, some people try to have advantage on this way. Even not lying, they give incomplete answers or just respond what was asked, without to mention any information related to the question that may disturb their interests after to be known by the other part. A occasion like that happens often when strangers are still getting acquaintance, which is common on dating sites. That attitude may cause deception to someone later.
So, a lesson of this joke is to pay attention when elaborating questions to know data or information considered essential about anyone, analyzing how it was answered and trying to avoid omission of those data. That may avert false impressions, disappointments or bad consequence to someone in the future.
