Marriage to Slavic women
I wanted to ask anybody especially men if they have had or know of people who have married to a Russian or FSU women and are still happily married after a extended period like 10 years or more ? The reason I ask is the research I have seen is the due the difficulties such language, culture, religion,etc that marriages to foreign women seem to have a higher rate of divorce then marrying a local women where the divorce rate is still almost 50% for US/ Canada.
In addition once a women arrives in the West and see other options she may leave as she might not have such a opportunity in their homeland, I'm sure most men are aware of the "marriage scams" which are common in the West. One friend told me to move to a 3 third country like Thailand, Dominican Republic, etc that way there is no immigration issue as any potential bride would not have citizenship of my home country.
I would appreciate any information as I conflicted on my feelings on this issue ?

I seem to offer credence to nboth sides of your dilemma as I was married to a girl from Minsk and we divorced after a little over 10 years of marriage. I would say at least 8 of them were happily married. The problem was the woman, not that she was from FSU.
But on the plus side of the argument, I am looking again for the true love of my life and not even considering an American / local woman. So clearly I am on the side of saying, if you find the right person, then the issues that normally cause divorce and the "distractions" will not be an issue. Real love transcends all these things.

Nobody will make this decision for you, sorry. I am Russian, immigrated to Canada 13 years ago with Russian wife and kid. Recently she dumped me after more than 20 years of marriage. I was very happy for 20 years, except that now it's all for nothing. This is why I am on this site - looking for a slavic woman to start from scratch. For me it's a bit different as I prefer a partner who speaks my first language, which I am more comfortable with. I guess all will depend on your ability to pick the right one. And a lot of luck too. Probably like with a woman of any other nationality. Good luck to you!
hello Tony! I agree with all the comments above. And can add that much depends on what you re searching for. If a faithful devoted woman for a FAMILY than welcome to Russia.. If a very independent career-oriented one then seek there.. very roughly but nevertheless.. I read much about that divorce statistics as well.. Sometimes what they write is such a mess actually!! So now I dont investigate and dont waste time. Situations are different as well as people who face them. I ll listen to my heart.)) Concerning marriage scams. I think its bullshit. Do you know what a woman should undergo to have the right to be called your wife?? Sorry I can be mistaken tho..Good luck!!!
