Is it possible to have a Russian E-mail extent ending, and live in the Ukraine?
Hello...I'm in contact with some lady who says that she is in the Ukraine as a resident and has a job.I have her E-Mail address, "***.ru"
This means that she is in Russia right?
Is it possible to have a Russian E-mail extent ending, and live in the Ukraine?
I'm just don't know that part of the world, thank you in advance for any answers...Scott REV 18

Hello, Scott! Don't worry! It's absolutely normal. I'm from Ukraine and I've got three e-mail boxes, one them has an extent ending with .ru. This mail box is widely used and very popular among people who live on the territory of the former USSR republics. But I must say that this mail box is not reliable enough to have contacts with people from the West. I can recommend your lady to open .gmail and she will be guranteed to get letters from you.
Good luck to you both!

Hi Scott. Well you have your answer. But i'd just like to add it's possible to tell which city the email comes from by looking up the IP address attached to that email. But I suspect from you asking that question it might be a bit hard for you. There are many ways to check if someone is real. If you don't have it I suggest you use Skype to communicate as well. Goodluck in your search.

Hello!
A country code top-level domain (ccTLD) is an Internet top-level domain generally used or reserved for a country, identified with a code containing two letters. An example of ccTLD is "RU".
The extent ending "RU" in an e-mail address is composed by the first two letters of the name of the country "Russia", indicating e-mail with Russian domain.
But that does not mean that only Russian people can create or have e-mail address with "RU" suffix. Despite those electronic mails to be more popular in Russia or in the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, they are accessible and available to other users in the internet.
So, it is possible to have an e-mail with Russian extent ending and to live in Ukraine, as the extention does not indicate where the user lives or is from by itself, neither reveals the localization nor the birth place of anyone, not determining that a specific owner of the e-mail is from Russia or lives there.
