Greedy VS Stingy

Hello everyone. In many instances, I have seen the mistake of using the word Greedy to describe a man who doe not spend freely or has severe limitations with giving to others or even to himself. This is completely incorrect. See the definitions according to Merriam English dictionary. Greedy: Marked by greed: having or showing a selfish desire for wealth and possessions. Synonyms: Avaricious, acquisitive, covetous, rapacious, grasping, venal, cupidinous, materialistic, mercenary, predatory, usurious, possessive. Stingy: Not generous or liberal: sparing or scant in using, giving, or spending Synonyms: Mean, miserly, parsimonious, niggardly, close-fisted, penny-pinching, cheese-paring, penurious, Scrooge-like, ungenerous, illiberal, close.
