Quick guide for Women who want to marry men from Canada
I live in Canada and am looking to marry a lady from Ukraine and have been in contact with Immigration Canada to get all the information about what is required when I do find that special someone from Ukraine. Here are the simple steps that will speed up the process for the lady to come to Canada. First if you are serious about the man, you should get married in Ukraine, Canada does recognise international marriages, have proof that this is a real and serious relationship such as pictures of trips together or visits from him to see you, copies of correspondence between the two of you(letters,WhatsApp conversations etc). Before you are married he should get a spouse visa form where you fill in all the your required information. After you are married he will take the form,marrige certificate, proof of relationship etc back to Canada and begin the procedure from Canada, after it is accepted in Canada, it will be forwarded to the embassy in Kiev and they will interview the lady in her native language. when both are approved she will be given certificate of permanent residence and she must arrive in Canada before the expiration date. The average time from beginning to end is around 9 months. Once in Canada you may be able to work but that is a case by case situation.the procedure I do believe would be very similar with all countries. The waiting time may vary when the Lady is from the USA

When I married here we filled forms to court, went to court, they checked only our ID, social security number and certificate of death of my previous husband. Then they gave other forms to church. The priest filled these forms and we brought it to court again and got new forms to church. The priest filled these new forms, too. We brought it to court again (actually my husband because I worked) and finally got a marriage certificate. Does Canada have the same: to run court-church-court-church-court during 2 weeks? Actually any pleasure especially for working persons

Maira, do you mean a temporary resident visa to visit, or a permanent resident visa to stay? A temporary visa may be issued in as little as a week, whereas the permanent resident visa starts at 6 months, typically.
