I'm impressed! Thumbs up!
Finally a proper post, although it would have been better placed in the section "culture and society".
There are four main factors that influence a human's life span: education, income, health systems and infrastructure.
The trouble that Russia faces is that the educational system is still stuck in the 19th century: confrontative teaching, blackboards and chalk totally outdated textbooks and catastrophically underpaid teaching staff are commonplace. According to the OECD even African countries (!!) have greater respect for teachers and pay them better than Russians.
The same goes for doctors: they're totally underpaid, work under lousy conditions in 'hospitals' that would qualify as vet stations over here, if at all.
It is an easy guess that a high salary grants access to valuable resources, such as good food, medical supplies and also recreational areas. The latter are in a horrible condition in Russia or secluded areas, available to oligarchs and the like. If you call an ambulance, you can be happy if you arrive anywhere alive at all. Look at the conditions of what they call 'roadwork'.
This is my answer, and now I'm waiting for the "but look at your country" outcry from pseudo patriots and nationalists who refuse to see reality. )))
