When a man is polite or shows courtesy towards a woman, the normal response should be to accept graciously, say thank you or nod. When a woman responds to a man’s kindness with, “I don’t need your help” or “I can get it myself”, in normal society this is considered rude.

American feminists are never worried they will be considered rude; they intend to be rude in order to “show strength!” This is another way of the woman gruffly saying, “I don’t need a man!” It is an open sign of contempt towards someone who has shown you kindness.

Of course, men see this as a sign of psychological weakness and insecurity. A man’s typical response is usually to roll his eyes and find a more pleasant woman.
