hmmm... of course we have difference in mentality. For americans very important "american smile"... we prefer to look into eyes because they are mirror of the soul. We are more strict in showing our emotions... "too complex" as says my foreign friends... Sometimes americans looks like kids in kindergarden - too naive and optimistic... Just because we have different lifestyles and life levels... We are more maximalistic in relations - friends can cals at night... family are part of our life (often few generations need to live together)- not for sending post-cards few times a year... I think we look mostly inside... americans looks outside. But of course it is my own and subjective opinion.
