You are right about "mother". I had conversation with many-many men looking for woman elder than they .... including my stepson.
All these persons have lack responsibility and reliability, actually need anyone who will take all their problems including sexual for own shoulders. Some of them are typical rascals who used women for money.
I met the same couples where women is more elder than man among clients in my work, too.
As for me I try to avoid any contact with men who look for elder women
