Feel free to ask me anything! I just hope the English to Russian translator works ok...

The short answer is: my career. I work A LOT and have very little time to go out, meet a nice woman, and date. Right now I work around 90-100 hours a week, 7 days a week, for weeks at a time. A few occasions, I have worked over 40 days straight without a single day off but 3 weeks at a time is about normal. I eat and sleep at the job location, which consists of only men. It's very strange, psychologically, to go a month or more without seeing or speaking with a woman. But I have satellite internet so online dating is really the only option I have right now. If I find the right girl, I can change my position so that I can be home to be a husband and father but for now, I will continue to work hard.

Before that, I spent most of my 20's deployed in the Navy. At that time I was focused solely on serving my country. I had a few relationships but it's very hard to find a woman who will stick around when I'm deployed 6-9 months a year. Plus, I did not think that was fair to the woman to ask to wait for me for 9 months.

One of my best friends and my college roommate found and married a wonderful American woman through an online dating website. After he told me how they met, I decided to try it. In the USA there is somewhat of a social stigma attached to online "dating" but it's becoming more and more accepted because both American men and women are so busy focusing on building a successful career. For many, creating a family is a secondary goal, which is part of the reason I decided to look for an Eastern European woman. I just wish you all did not live so far away!

When I do have time off work I try to go out and meet women in real life so online dating sites just supplement my search. As Elena noted, though, there are not many women (or people at all) in Wyoming.

I hope that answered your question, Tatyana!
