Certainly and I do not blame any of the Russian women or men here for hanging on every word and experience that Dennis shares. It's a valuable insight that is being shared in your native language and from somebody who shares your culture. It would be the same for me if Doug went to live in Moscow and shared his experiences. I would favorably consider his thoughts and opinions because we share a common background.
However, if Doug decided to only focus on the negatives that he found with Russia and Russian people, I would question WHY he decided to only share that. Especially if he used broad, sweeping generalizations and stereotypes. If Doug wrote that the majority of Russian men are vodka drinking drunks that hit their women and care only about fighting, should I take that as truth because I favor Doug's opinion? If he wrote that most Russian women care only about money and going on expensive shopping trips, would the women here not come to defend themselves? Personally, I would wonder why Doug is having so many negative experiences and what kind of people he is meeting. Are all Russian people like that or is it something about Doug that attracts those kind of people?
All I'm trying to say is to take the valuable insight from Dennis but also draw your own conclusions and, if possible, have your own experiences.
*Doug, I hope you don't mind me using you in my example*
