Doug,
People in eastern Europe tend to mature faster in terms of coming to grips with realities of life as compared with our happy golucky attitudes even into our thirties. That's why sitcoms like Friends and Seinfeld worked. Opportunities are generally more in the west. Most young people in Australia or Stateside with a college degree do not need to think about financials until they are late thirties or married while that is considerable issue here. I think any lady above 35 is fine as long as you are compatible... ie. physical health, intellectually similar and want the same type of life. The issue will be kids if she has or wants any and financial expectations. Don't sell yourself or them short. Don't think it's about greed of money but rather a pragmatic approach to life. Most are not seeking Trump or the annual trip to Whistler or grande Europe but rather what we would consider small comforts for women we love. They want someone who does not cut and run.
I know of one 51 with 23 and both besotted with each other with young toddler. Him Midwest small savvy farmer and no wallflower, her slim, well educated and very pretty. That's a very special case of two special people but it exists.
good luck

Go for it mate!
