True reasons.
We have a joke: after the marriage a husband wants his wife to be the same as she was before the marriage (nice, a pleasant partner without any complaints), while a wife wants her husband to change his character (to get rid of some bad habits and to use some good habils). But men stay the same, women change their character.  
Sooo maybe women become irritated as their husbands don`t listen to them or men stay the same because their wives become not so nice)))so why to change something for the better if she isn`t nice any more? How to be pleasant and nice, if a man don`t listen at all???

For me the main reason - not depth, but when a person hears, understands, but don`t do the things right.
As an example: please, call me when you`ll arrive. As I would be worrying very much untill I know you are safe. - O.K. I understand and I`ll call you.
And no calls as the result.
