Currently, I am working on a research paper that mathematically and emperically finds that individuals make irrational decision in life when they face the scarcity of money, that scarcity depletes their cognitive bandwidth, leaving few resources to make a rational decision. This model can be used to explain the behavior of every individual. Now, if I use this model to explain the irrational behavior of women , I will find that these individual had such behavior not due to their culture or values, but due to their circumstances. But I wonder if I try to explain men's behavior, who is the counter party in this transaction, can I say that the individual made a wrong decision based on money scarcity? Well he bought the gift so he is not financially distressed. Only explanation left is that his values and ethics suggest that such a transaction for sex was a rational decision for him. Now, you can argue who is responsible for this situation. Should we blame men for the lack of values or should we blame women for lack of financial resources?
