Hypergamy is the only reason why this site exists. As it is commonly known, women will only "marry up" in order to improve their social status. Therefore, they look for a future-husband in a richer country than their own. From a man´s perspective, living in such a richer country, does it make sense to get married to such a - very attractive yet materialistic - woman? Probably, her search to even rise higher in social status won´t stop when she got married, so there is a big risk for husband #1 to get dumped for a "better" (richer or better looking) man.
