Seeking a Ukraine Lady

I been seeking Ukraine`s lady to my future partner/wife for sometime now, l have been to Ukraine for short holiday and have interesting the country very much, it is why, l am seeking lady from that Country to share my life with, But the only problems, l keep having is, they want Gifts from me, before l even get to know them, which l believe is wrong and very rude, Women in England don't do that, So is this the Custom of the women to ask for Gifts before they start dating with you. I would like some advice on this also other customs l need to know of,
