Maybe women tired of writing.Anyway,you can just ask the question,which demande more,than "yes"or "no".

In my limited experience, short answers are pretty common, at least when you're first starting to communicate with a woman. One word answers though, would indicate a lack of interest to me and I would move on.

I'd be concerned with overly long and detailed letters from the start too but for a different reason.

In any case, do not upset . Perhaps she does not know English. Also, it is possible she have another interest. I do not talk to people who answer only emoticons or one word. The conversation should be interesting for both. I wish you success.

I'm always short answer to the first letter, just hi, as a sign of respect for the man wrote to me. If I feel that the man continues to write to me and motivates me to dialogue, I I can write more verbose response. But I prefer to see the person in Skype, because there have been cases where age, photos ... do not correspond to reality

Hi, Phill.I don't think that you aren't interested this woman, otherwise she wouldn't answer you, maybe she shy because she didn't know English language. We all know that the translator is very often gives inaccurate  translation. I would advise you(if you are interested in this woman and like her) to be more tolerant and also try to use an interpreter, and write in her language. Sorry, for my bad English knowledge 

hi)Well, the proof of the pudding is in its eating. U just should try to go on and then the lack of interest or on the contrary would be obvious. In general, such things are felt somehow.

Ask for her Skype and/or Viber. If she gives them to you, she is somewhat interested. If she corresponds with you daily on Skype or Viber (or other means of audio/visual communication) then she is definitely interested.

Do not always want to respond to the letter. For example, I experience mild stress from the actions of pressure on my psyche insensitive men.I answer short answer.I keep a distance , when haven't feel safe. Men are different, many are looking for a sexual partner.I was surprised by the gentleman from Turkey.He wrote me a beautiful word. I politely told him the denial of correspondence. And got offensive words in Russian. Of course, after that I blocked conversation with him.

Don't necessarily be discouraged by one word answers. The site has a built in translation feature, but it's not always accurate. You may say something very clearly but on her end, it may be a bit hard to understand due to translator issues. She may even be trying to use English by way of a dictionary and may have trouble forming sentences on her own. Also keep in mind that there is a bit of an intimidation factor. They know the language barrier exists and sometimes might be very shy to try to write more. I've not yet found "the one" on here but have made some good friendships, and sometimes it starts with simple one word replies. Try to be funny, read her interests and talk about something she is interested in. Make them feel more comfortable and they'll be able to overcome the language barrier and shyness a bit easier. Also helps to study Russian. If she has trouble saying what she wants to say, try to speak some Russian and show her that it goes the other way too! It makes them feel more at ease if this is the case.

Phill, if you are interested in a woman so try to ask her questions. The reasons of short answers may be different.

I know what you mean Phil  . Sometimes I wonder if it's the language difference or lack of interest. I get a kick out of some of the girls from Moscow though. Such tough women. I get called cartoon man. To animated for them. Sorry for being an excited canadian fool. I'm always honest with them though that maybe they are single because they are boring. Beauty and looks fade. Giving some depths girls. Show some emotion. If serious man means being boring then I will stick to the Ukraine. They seem to be a little more down to earth. Yeah I may take heat for that but I am being honest.

I am in the process of learning russian though. I get a kick out of trying to pronounce things in their language and it makes me smile. But yes....I do get one worded answers too. I write letters that go on for days and then sometimes all I get is three small paragraphs     it's rough.
