Adesso riderete tutti di me

Tom, it is not fun, but it happens, the person has the right to choose, and it's her choice. You'll be ready for a new search in a some time . Good luck !!!

E 'uno scherzo, Tom!? Avete deciso di tutti noi a giocare? Non credo che si vuole sposare!

Tom, I'm sincerely sorry to hear this. We have had our differences, but never would I wish any pain for you. Inside you are a great guy and this place would not be the same without you. All of us want happiness for you. Must admit it is a shock to hear you asked a girl to marry you! One thing everyone must admit, though! Tom wanting to get married!!!? This PROVES there is a GOD!!!  ))))))

No te desanimes.. Y sigue buscando..
Posdata: no me gusta dar consejos,me hacen mayor, jejejeje.

Irina

Well Tom, I am sorry but you may not have heard....I have many friends from the FSU and its countries and all say ONE blazing thing. This will make many Muscovites angry but in general I have found they seem to be a little more full of pride..almost too much. I have met only 2 ladies from Moscow and both seemed to talk down about other parts of Russia and of course the other FSU countries. IN my opinion....and its only my opinion, and it will bring heavy complaints, unless you are ruch and I mean rich, these ladies from Moscow will not blink twice. Sadly I just had my 2nd and last experience with a lady from Moscow. If I shared some of the messages we shared(which I will not because of privacy) you would be shocked at the odd form of almost racism and snobbery that exists about other parts of Russia and of course other FSU countries. Its quite sad that these women do not see the writing on the wall...statistically over 73% of Russian women under 30 are divorced with at least one child without an active father for the country. Also, its easy to say you live in Moscow but leave out the part about living at home with family still or having roommates even when children are in teh home. Women will for sure boycott my page but I promise this is a true to life experience. Siberia,,,,they all treated me like family and their families did also. I have been 4 times and learned after one trip to Moscow that I wanted to really see Russia not the Official version of Russia Moscow spins out. Sorry ladies....I love the rest of Russia and the other FSU countries but I stay away from Moscow unless I have a layover. And even then, I dont leave the airport. Sorry residents of Moscow....my own opinion is that I enjoy the rest of Russia.

Andrew, something I completely agree with you. But also there are contentious issues. In any case, glad that you are trying to understand the Russian people as a whole, a lot of observe and analyze.

Andrew,

Hello Larisa, by all means I don't mean ALL of anyone. It just seems that a percentage of younger Muscovites seem to feel very entitled. I speak from experience knowing 4 women between 30 and 40 years old. I was not intimate with any of them and only one, the most wealthy of them all , was the most kind and the least odd of them all, and she was a Larisa too by chance. The Larisa I knew was a diamond dealer and you would never know it...she was humble and kind, soft and did not make me feel like she was different than any other woman of any of the FSU states. Most recently I had a different experience with someone different and after only a few emails I got the conclusion I have now. I am sure that many people of Russia have strong feelings about the other FSU states....I have some of my own however I keep them to myself. There is something my mother told me a long time ago that applies here...."Son, if you don't have anything nice to say about someone or something then don't say anything.!" That is a lesson I try to teach my son and certainly a lesson that the majority of Muscovite 30 year old men and women either never learned or just ignore. Also, having been all over the world I learned a long time ago not to say anything bad about the country you are visiting before or after leaving to someone else from that place. I have heard every insult about the other HSU states from ..insects to leaches to Nazi's and on and on and on. One I think was a true judge of character of all of Europe too, especially Italian men for some reason. I wish on everyone here happiness and peace wherever they are from or wherever they are going in life, I just would add that I hope that place is only a layover in Moscow at SVO or DME 😉

And I will quickly add that even other places in Russia have an extensive and similar opinion of Moscow's younger residents. I studied about the beauty of Moscow but I don't know if I will ever do anything but catch a layover flight there. It makes me kinda sad actually. And to think..........most of the world think Americans are rude?

To be fair though, you could say the same about the residents of say, New York City or Chicago or any number of other places in the USA.

Kinda true Tim, but I have been to NYC and Chicago, SF, Miami..etc, and there is one big difference. Muscovites seem to include themselves among other great European cities. History yes, The amazing buildings, yes, but freedom of the press, free elections, religion??? The list is long but most of all, there is a bullish judgemental mentality that I find over and over and over...even of their own countrymen. I have friends, more like brothers really in Siberia, that were deemed "poor hardworking folks." Hardworking YES, Poor, not in Spirit of culture. Friends in Lviv in the Ukraine, Nazi's they were called. On the Black Sea, leaches and a drain on "real" Russians. I think the biggest impression was(and i do not mean every Muscovite)an inability to hold their tongue. Rude is the word that comes to mind. I will take alot of crap for what I wrote but it is what it is. I wish you great luck here Tim. You should try Siberia in the dead of winter. How they manage is amazing!! No matter how cold they just keep on going.

I will defer to your experience, Andrew, since I have none of my own concerning Russia. I have heard/read similar accounts but I wasn't sure how wide spread that kind of thinking is.

And good luck to you as well! We need more American success stories here!
