Hi David! I don't understand why you got so angry at Olga's response. I read what she had written twice and could't identify any signs of personal attack on you. Her point was that it's not right to jump to conclusion about two great countries, Sweden and Norway, and thier people, jusy by witnessing inappropriate behavior of two women.
First, you don't know who they were. They could have easily been tourists from USA, or UK, or Russia   They could have been from other European country, Denmark for instance, they look like Sweds--tall and blond.
Second, I don't think that kind of behavior, public display of affection (PDA), has something to do with homosexuality. Would that be acceptable if it was a stright couple? In my opinion it speaks volumes of lack of manners and common decency, not of ethnicity, sexual orientation, or amount of money.
To me personally, PDAs are not something that I enjoy witnessing in public. I am not a prude. I just have zero interest in someone else's sexual life. I consider that type of behavior disrespectful to the others and something that mature decent people should refrain from in public. I understand your anger as a father that your son was forced to see such a scene against his and your will. However, your son is not a toddler anymore. If I remember correctly, he is 17. I think at this age he is perfectly capable to understand what is good and what is bad. I am not giving you advice, but if I were in your shoes with my daughter by my side, I would use the situation as an excuse and teach my kid a lesson about the norms of ethics, different cultural values, and the need to respect the others' feelings.

P.S. I respect Olga very much and think that she is very nice, intelligent, and open-minded person. I don't believe she deserves your lashing out at her.

Respectfully.
