haha no those are the rules, 25 people is the minimum to be a man I think you got the real point I was making, 25 was just how many were there that night.
Your last question is the heart of why I know accepting special treatment is trouble. Once you blur the professional boundaries, questions that shouldn't be present in a work environment enter the mix. We had to hire on a legal team and hr department to curtail the mess of these seemingly innocuous events like paid for dinners...you'd be shocked at how often a simple event like that used to go sideways and turn into an ugly situation so I say don't do it not because I don't want to pay for somebody, I'm saying in the long run that nice gesture does less good and more bad overall. You want to do something nice for somebody take them out outside a work event but when you're representing some other entity, be it a company/orgnization, maintain your professionalism
